About Blue Bird Day
What we do
Blue Bird Day provides young children with daily opportunities for socialization, sensory regulation, and academic learning — including reading, numeracy, and language skills. All of our goals and treatment plans are individualized to meet each student’s specific needs, including daily speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nutrition counseling, behavior therapy, and feeding therapy sessions.
Who we are
Blue Bird Day was founded by Occupational Therapist and child development specialist Dr. Laura Hawkesworth Mraz in 2014. The staff is made up of Occupational Therapists, Master’s level Learning Behavior Specialists (LBS1), Speech Language Therapists, Feeding Therapists, Physical Therapists, Developmental Therapists and Therapeutic Assistants who give their all to their job and our clients. We welcome you to come meet our staff and take a tour of our facility.
In tandem with our evidence-based research, Dr. Mraz created a state-of-the-art facility that works seamlessly with our program. With two locations, West Loop and North Center, the Blue Bird Day facilities are designed to maximize your child’s participation and growth.
