Blue Bird Day’s Approach
Blue Bird Day’s preschool and kindergarten programs are designed to foster socialization, sensory regulation and academic learning in children ages 2-9. We set goals for each child’s future success in school and social situations. Our programs are ideal for children with Autism, ASD, sensory processing disorders, apraxia, Asperger’s Syndrome, ADHD, stuttering, and sensory based feeding disorders.
Blue Bird Day is an Evidence-Based Practice, which means that research backed proof, our clinical expertise and your child’s values and preferences are at the heart of everything we do. We stay current on the most relevant and evidence-based research available and integrate these therapeutic models into each individual child’s goals.
We embrace a multi-sensory curriculum that incorporates:
- Sensory Integration
- Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Handwriting Without Tears
- Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) for feeding
Treatment plans are individually developed for each child. Our curriculum encourages peer interaction, socialization, academic skills, sensory integration and speech development.
Every detail of our programs are crafted with your children in mind. Our facility was designed by our owner — Dr. Laura Hawkesworth Mraz — to benefit your children in their daily activities and routines. The evidence-based approach is integrated throughout the facility, from the colored railings and minimally designed spaces to the carefully timed transitions and program schedules.
We surround ourselves with highly trained, experienced and passionate therapists and therapeutic assistants. All of these individuals are truly what make Blue Bird Day extraordinary and stand apart from the rest.
