What did you study?Psychology (undergrad) and Occupational Therapy (Graduate)
Name the moment that inspired you to take your career path.The drive to dedicate my career to working with these populations began with my involvement on a research team in undergrad at Illinois State. The team aimed to study the effectiveness of applied behavioral analysis interventions for preschoolers with autism, and the driving force to explore related career options was sparked by the way in which I was inspired to apply my skills such as intuitive empathy and challenged to develop my own presence and patience in order to see the incredible changes within clients.
What do you specialize in? Promoting participation in meaningful daily activities such as mealtimes, social interactions and play for individuals impacted by sensory processing differences and autism. I am trained in DIR/Floortime, Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) Approach to Feeding, Sensory Integration, and the Intentional Relationship Model.
