What did you study?I have my undergraduate degree in Music Therapy and percussion performance from M.S.U. My graduate degree is in Speech, Language, and Learning from N.U.
Name the moment that inspired you to take your career path.During one of my clinical placements in graduate school I was playing peekaboo in the ball pit with a 3 year old boy when he produced his first word, “more.” That remains one of the most remarkable moments of my career.
What do you specialize in? As a music therapist, I specialize in the use of musical and play based intervention. I try make therapy meaningful to my clients by integrating opportunities for creative expression and exploration.
Coffee or Tea?Really dark, strong, black, coffee.
Favorite therapeutic swing?Any swing that is big enough for two. I’m all about peer interaction and socialization!
What do you consider to be your greatest accomplishment? My daughter Ella.
Books or Movies?Books Books Books. There is no greater escape than a good story.
Where would you go on your dream vacation?A backpacking adventure through The Appalachian Trail.
What is your favorite children’s book? Go Away Big Green Monster
What skill are you most proud of? I think I’m a pretty good dad.
Winter or Summer?Winter. There is nothing like a sunny day in the snow.
