Therapeutic Kindergarten Rotation Schedule

  • Morning Arrival & Circle Time

    Evidence Based Intervention: Sensory Integration, Intentional Relationship Model, DIR Floortime, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)

    Goal: Transition fluidly into program environment as well as explore play skills and support ideation, support school-readiness skills such as number recognition and counting, attention and following directions, and social skills necessary for large group learning

  • Occupational Therapy

    Evidence Based Intervention: Sensory Integration, Handwriting without Tears

    Goal: To support gross and fine motor coordination necessary for handwriting and academic success

  • Speech Therapy

    Evidence Based Intervention: Zoo Phonics, PROMPT, Unique Learning System

    Goal: To support phonemic awareness and communication skills necessary for literacy proficiency

  • Behavior Therapy & Snack

    Evidence Based Intervention: Applied Behavioral Analysis(ABA), Sequential Oral Sensory Approach (SOS)

    Goal: To explore and consume foods in a safe setting

  • Physical Therapy

    Evidence Based Intervention: Biomechanical Model, Neurodevelopmental Treatment, Motor Control

    Goal: To support gross motor coordination and success with navigating gross motor equipment in group setting

  • Numeracy

    Evidence Based Intervention: Unique Learning System, Intentional Relationship Model, DIR Floortime

    Goal: To support engagement in small group mathematics exploration and learning

  • Literacy

    Evidence Based Intervention: Sensory Integration, DIR Floortime, Intentional Relationship Model

    Goal: To support developmentally appropriate literacy concepts necessary for academic success

  • Feeding Therapy & Lunch

    Evidence: Sensory Integration, Intentional Relationship Model, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Oral Motor Strengthening

    Goal: To participate in lunchtime and feeding routines in a group setting

  • Extracurricular Activities

    Evidence Based Intervention: Intentional Relationship Model, Social Skills

    Goal: To participate in large group activity corresponding to day of the week. Promotes following directions, turn taking, group participation, and flexibility in thinking

Therapeutic Kindergarten For Your Child

Blue Bird Day’s therapeutic kindergarten fosters socialization, sensory regulations and academic learning in children 5-9 years of age. It is designed for children with Autism (ASD), sensory processing disorder (SPD), ADHD, stuttering, articulation and phonological disorders and sensory based feeding disorders.
